These pictures were taken at the Hogbetsotso Festival that we went to in Keta last weekend.   This picture should actually go after the next one of the regional chief but it was too much trouble to move it!  This is the vice president of Ghana who is the acting president since the president died in September.  He spoke after the regional chief- in English.
After the procession of all the Volta regional chiefs, the head chief of the region spoke to the large crowd sitting and standing under tents that encircled a large field.  He spoke in the main native language of that region which is pronounced A-way (no idea how you spell it!).   After the speeches there were presentation in the field of cultural dancing, drumming and singing.  It was AWESOME!
