Wow!!! I can hardly believe I am able to post tonight!!!  Major internet issues here for us in the city of Ho in the Volta Region of Ghana.  It's 11:30 pm at night and it's been a very long day- and very busy week so I don't have a lot of brain power to share specific thoughts and impressions.  I will write that Ghana is a beautiful country- near the equator so very tropical and the temperature feels a little like Atlanta in the summer.  We have no air where we are staying but that's okay with me really- it's a beautiful place with lots of windows and fans surrounded by tropical foliage and hills rising up behind the house (CIH shares this place with another NGO).  I am really enjoying Ho which is smaller and and more rural than Accra - but it's still a city - with everything we need really.  I have been having an amazing adventure- so much to tell. .so little time at the moment.  I am finally in the swing of things with our projects in the schools and REALLY enjoying my time with the children.

Instead of writing much tonight I'm going to share my world in pictures! Hope you enjoy them.

Showing the kids pictures of the class they are doing the exchange with.

Capturing the kids singing and dancing for me!!

So much love. . .so much cuteness!!!  I can hardly stand it.

On our porch coloring with the neighborhood kids (Christie is the US leader of the program this session)

This last Saturday we went to a very traditional festival in the Keta region on the coast.  Pictured here is Kelvin, our Ghanian leader, driver, interpreter etc.   The ocean was beautiful lined with palm trees.  Kids were playing in the water and I just couldn't help myself so I stripped down to my underwear and dove in.  It was amazingly refreshing especially after walking around the festival for a few hours.

Hopefully tomorrow I will get a chance to add some pictures from the festival showing some real traditional garb- the chief of the region, drummers, dancers etc.!!!

PS I don't know if you've seen the news, or even care, but Obama has been re-elected as our president.
